A Simple Guide to Golf Training Aids

Golf Training Aids

It shouldn’t be so hard but most of us can benefit from using golf training aids. It should all be so simple. You have a golf ball and a club. All you have to do is hit the ball. Trouble is there are so many variables in the way you hit it. The power of the shot, how you swing the golf club and how smooth you make your stroke. No wonder we struggle to send the ball where we want it to go.

When you watch pro players they seem to make the game of golf look easy. Even when they find themselves in a difficult situation they just hit that ball and, usually, get right back where they need to be. Unfortunately like a few other things in life things are not always as they seem. That pro golf guy probably spends a large part of nearly every day practicing his game and he may have developed his own range of training aids that help him, or her, play better golf.
It may look easy but we know golf is a very difficult sport to play well.

It is no coincidence that the best golfers have their own coach. They do it for a very good reason. They need to practice and they need to have someone who knows about golf to watch them and guide them to play smooth and efficiently. To make the power take the ball where they want it to go and not off in the rough or in the trees.
Good golfing takes practice and training but not all of us can afford the time or the money it would cost. What we have to do is make use of the best golf training aids we can find and use them to develop our golf game so we can be proud of how we play.
When you start to browse for golf training aids you will discover that there are lots of different types available. Some of these golfing training tools are designed to train your mind, others train your body while many others including books and videos help you understand how to improve the way you strike the ball and follow through. There are so many little ways you can improve your game and many of these golf training aids focus on just one small aspect of the game of golf and how to improve it.

Swing Guides

Swing guides usually attach to the grip of your golf club and the idea behind doing this is that by attaching a swing guide to your club you can be sure to keep your hands in the correct grip and this helps your wrists take up the correct position. The result of this should mean that you keep the club face is properly square to the direction the ball is to go. One of the main aims of these swing guides is to help to prevent the common problems caused by over-cocking the wrists as you try to put more power into the swing.

Stance Trainers

Stance trainers try to help you to get a better stance before you strike the ball. It may not seem so important but your stance can make all the difference to the success of your game, and when you stand properly you improve both your stability and your balance and you will then be able to get more power into your stroke and still keep control of the ball.  You will usually find that stance trainers are adjustable so they can be used by kids as well as adults.

Impact Balls

An Impact ball is a golf ball that has been specially designed to help you improve your swing, your form and your follow-through.  These Impact balls can seem rather oddly shaped, as they may have curved indentations in each side, but they are suitable for both beginners and expert golfers and some people find them very helpful.

Wrist Braces

Wrist brace help you to align your wrist position in the correct way.  Wearing these braces can use muscle memory to teach you proper wrist form which is something most golfers can struggle with. Once you have used these golf training wrist  braces for some time you should automatically know how you should position your wrists when you take up your stance.

Indoor Putting Greens

A portable putting green may look like a game for kids but they do allow you to work on your putting wherever you are.  The more time you spend doing proper practice with a portable putting green the better your putting will get. Don’t just mess around though. Treat your indoor putting mat as a serious piece of golf training equipment and practice your putting whenever you get the chance.

There is some really good golf training aids available so take a look at some and see if you think they might help your game. You will also find there are hundreds of books available which can teach you some of the tips and techniques to improve your golf game when you play golf at your local golf course. Even the pros need to golf training aids and practice so don’t feel you don’t because we all do if we want to play well.
